What is the best 8.6 Blackout barrel length?  The optimal barrel length for the 8.6 Blackout depends on the intended use, but, Q, LLC, the creator of the cartridge recommends a 12″ barrel to get the best results. But they do come in 16 inch, 14-inch, and 8-inch barrels.

 

What is the lethal range of the 8.6 Blackout? The 8.6 Blackout 16-inch barrel can reach up to 400 yards with supersonic ammo before spin drift becomes a factor. You can shoot up to 1,000 yards with supersonic ammo with an 8″ barrel length, but most shooters find that the max range is round 300 yards due to trajectory.
 
Also with subsonic ammo, the 8.6 Blackout can shoot out to around 400 yards.
